American Horror Story is an FX Series that last October took the Network and all those who started watching the series by storm. It was a series like nothing we’ve seen in a very long time and though a broken family- The Harmon Family, who had the misfortune to buy the valuable mansion for much less than it’s value ended up paying more than they ever bargained for with their sanity and ultimately with their lives.

When the series finished just last year- which was very depressing, Vivien Harmon (Connie Britton) was the last to perish in this home as she was giving birth to her twins, that, mind you were being delivered by the lunatic and original owner of the home, which was dead and nurses that were murdered decades later in the same house by some man that hated nurses.

The house would not allow the family to leave and so now they remain there with the other dead people in the house. However, at the ending of the season, Ben Harmon was still a survivor (Dylan McDermott,) even after the death of his seventeen year old daughter, Violet played by (Taissa Farmiga), his wife and one still born baby. The one that lived was not even his child as they previously found out that the twins were fathered by two different men. A weird occurrence, but one that could happen.

We learned that the man in the rubber suit was Tate played by (Evan Peters) who d Vivian Harmon and in that act conceived a half breed child. Half human-half spirit. Constance Langdon (Jessica Lange) took care of the child quickly as she learned of these occurrences and the fact that that was her grandchild.

So what will happen to Ben Harmon, since they are clearly saying that most of the cast will be new and that there would no longer be a Harmon Family? Which is actually really sad, because I really liked them loads. I sure hope Brad Falchuk & Ryan Murphy will pick another cast that will blow our minds through the roof. I wonder what else will this house will have store for us? Will Vivien and Violet be around at all? How about Tate and the rest of the dead in this house…?

FX New Series American Horror Story is only three episodes in. However, if you’re a fan of the obscure and somewhat deranged and haunted, you will fall in love with this show after just viewing the first episode. It is seriously twisted, confusing but well acted and with great visuals. Sometimes its hard to tell what’s real or not. But after the 3rd episode I concluded that it’s all real but “reality” appears differently to different individuals.

I was turned to the show through a friend that’s a David Lynch fan as I am and compared it to “Twin Peaks,” so I knew I had to at least check it out. Though it doesn’t really remind me of David Lynch‘s work, I can see how a comparison maybe done for the characters are just a bit off not like “normal” people. In fact far from normal, they’re purposely intrusive, secretive, condescending and simply just creepy which only makes you want to get to know them more.

An American Horror Story was created and produced by both Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk who also, created, directed and wrote shows such as (Nip Tuck & Glee.) Now they’ve come together again and this time they’ve concocted a superbly dark American Story.

Summary of the Show:

Basically, an all American family, The Harmon family: Ben (played Dylan McDermott) Vivien (played by Connie Britton) and Violet (played by Taissa Farmiga) move cross country from Boston to California after a string of some very mis-fortunate events. Vivien Harmon has a miscarriage after 7 months of pregnancy and a few months later catches her husband in their bed with one of his students. Obviously, very traumatic. Ben Harmon decides to move his family and give a “new start” a try.

They buy a house that’s somewhat of a mansion built in the 1920′s for less than half the price. Ben Harmon feels as though they finally came into some luck even though the realtor disclosed that the previous family died in the house (murder-suicide). She’s only required to disclose the last 3 years of the house’s history, but little do they know that the house’s history is a long way down a rabbit hole of murder, slaughter and death just all around.

So there’s my vague description in a nutshell of what’s going on in FX New Series American Horror Story, I don’t want to give much out because there is so much to look forward to. Believe me this is one series that is jam packed with delusions and illusions with grotesque flash backs from the past and the past not all gone in a sense and living amongst the Harmon Family.

Cast (Main):

  • -Dylan McDermott as Dr. Benjamin “Ben” Harmon
  • -Connie Britton as Vivien Harmon
  • -Evan Peters as Tate Langdon
  • -Taissa Farmiga as Violet Harmon
  • -Denis O’Hare as Larry Harvey
  • -Jessica Lange as Constance

The cast is superb and obviously very carefully chosen for if you noticed they’ve all done their share of horror movies or shows and are well experienced for this haunting and psychologically thrilling series: FX New Series American Horror Story.

Catch up with the series On Demand and be ready for tomorrow’s 4th episode in the series. The series airs every Wednesday on FX at 10:00 P.M.
