Jennifer Love Hewitt and Brian Hallisay are happily raising their three children—Autumn, Atticus, and Aidan—away from the bright lights of Hollywood. The longtime couple met on the set of Love Bites back in 2011, but it wasn’t until the duo co-starred in The Client List that sparks began to fly, according to People. One year later, Hewitt announced she was pregnant with their first child, and People confirmed their engagement shortly thereafter.
“This is a wonderful time and we are looking forward to starting our family together,” Hewitt and Hallisay said at the time, per E! News.

Hewitt gave birth to the couple’s first baby, Autumn, in November 2013, just a few days after their surprise nuptials, per People. Little brother Atticus arrived two years later, in 2015, and a third baby, Aidan, was born in 2021. The family of five was officially complete.
“I don’t think I could do another one,” Hewitt told People. “I think five is a great number.”
In 2018, Hewitt returned to work when she was cast on the Fox drama 9-1-1. She called her new work-life balance a “juggle” in an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight.
“I think it’s harder on me than it is my kids,” she told the publication. “My kids are like, ‘Bye, Mom, see you later!’ Or like, they’re excited to come to the set and eat craft service. So they don’t mind.”
The actress also added that, “With my lifestyle as a mom, to be able to work in L.A., to be able to dip in and dip out and have it be an ensemble, it’s a great experience.”

In 2024, Hewitt offered a rare glimpse at her family by revealing all three of her kids’ faces for the first time. The trio posed for the cover of her memoir, Inheriting Magic: My Journey Through Grief, Joy, Celebration, and Making Every Day Magical.
“It was the most stressful decision to show our kids or not show them,” the actress told E! News. “But my husband and I felt like we couldn’t really tell our story without knowing who they are and how they have made our lives so full and magical.”

Hewitt’s eldest child Autumn was born on November 26, 2013. Following baby Autumn’s arrival, the couple revealed that they had tied the knot in a secret ceremony just five days before she was born.
“It was just the two of us, and then we went to Bed Bath & Beyond, because that’s what married people do,” the new mom said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “It was really sweet and he’s an awesome, incredible father and a great husband and I feel really lucky.”
In the same interview, Hewitt also told DeGeneres that Autumn was a “great sleeper” and loved “Latin and hip-hop” music. A few years later, she even began imitating her mom after the actress won the role of Maddie Han on the first responder drama 9-1-1.
“My daughter has started walking around the house going, ‘9-1-1, mhmm. What’s your problem?'” Hewitt told Entertainment Tonight in 2018. “That’s what she says. ‘9-1-1, what’s your problem?’ I’m like, ‘Babe, that’s a little too much attitude for an emergency situation.’ But she has a fake phone and she walks [around]–it’s really funny.”
In 2024, Autumn followed in her mom’s footsteps when she earned her SAG card following an appearance on 9-1-1. Hewitt was the same age when she earned her SAG card back in 1989.
“I had this flash of my mom handing me my card at 10 years old,” Hewitt told People. “I was dying, it was so cool.”
The I Know What You Did Last Summer actress also told the publication about her daughter’s show business dreams. “I think it would be good for her to wait a little bit, but she has big dreams of being a star on a Disney show, and she’s a very good manifester. I just may have to get out of the way like my mom did.”

Autumn’s little brother Atticus arrived on June 24, 2015. Hewitt later told People that the newly crowned big sister was loving her new role. “She is in love with him and kisses him most of the day,” the actress said. “Her favorite part of the day is snuggling with him.”
She continued, “It’s so gratifying to see them developing such a strong bond. My brother has always been an important part of my life and I’m so glad they will always have each other, too.”
Hewitt has since described her son as “a little boy with a big heart,” per People. In 2024, he spent the day with his mom on the set of 9-1-1. “Seeing what I get to do for a living through his eyes was so cool,” Hewitt told People. “We got to eat lunch together in my trailer, and I had this really hard scene that I had to do where I was crying and he was just rubbing my back at the end of it, and he told me how proud he was. He was like, ‘Mommy, you work so hard. Thank you for working so hard.’ It was really sweet.”

Hewitt and Hallisay’s second son was born in September 2021. His exact birth date has not been shared publicly. The actress revealed her third pregnancy via an exclusive interview with People. “We had always been open to a third, but definitely didn’t think in the crazy year that the entire world was having that it would necessarily be this moment,” she explained. “This has been such a pleasant, beautiful, surprising gift in this time to be able to get to do all that again with another little human.”
The actress’s pregnancy just so happened to coincide with her 9-1-1 character giving birth on the show. Hewitt called the experience of going through fictional labor while pregnant the “craziest, most surreal moment.”
“That was very interesting,” she continued. “And it was definitely a nauseous day for me. So that came with its own challenges, but it was a good recall back to those beautiful, amazing moments that you feel really excited about.”
When it came time to deliver her real life baby, Hewitt’s children doodled phrases on her bump, including “Almost cooked!” and “9 Months.” She shared a photo on Instagram, writing, “My belly was a big hit.”
In 2024, all three of Hewitt’s kids played a small role in her and Hallisay’s Christmas movie, The Holiday Junkie. The actress later explained it was a last-minute decision to include baby Aidan. “Here’s the funny part, the two big kids are in the movie a couple of times, and then I realized on the last day of filming that we did not put the baby in the movie,” she told Jennifer Hudson on her namesake talk-show. “So I said, ‘we got him a work permit for it,’ and we threw him in the snow scene there for five seconds, and he was so happy.”
