Breezy White Maxi Skirts Are a Summer Essential

In recent weeks, it was so excruciatingly hot, I simply did not want to wear clothes. Jeans were obviously off the table—I’m of the rare breed that will just about entirely nix denim from their summer wardrobe. Dresses were a feasible option, but I don’t always love wearing dresses (I know, I’m weird!). And shorts are such a hit or miss for me, that I tend to avoid buying them altogether. So, when I kept seeing white maxi skirts pop up on my Instagram feed and IRL, I decided, “Hmm, Eva, I think here’s your solution.”

The universe was intentionally putting the best summer staple in my pathway—I saw it everywhere I went. Of course, I’d seen celebrities like Katie Holmes, Anne Hathaway, and Taylor Swift wearing some version of a white maxi in the past, but recently, everywhere I walked, I saw people weathering the breezy staple, too, so I took it as a sign. After trying my newest Everlane Gauze Skirt, I was convinced I hadn’t lived summer right until wearing it—it’s basically like wearable A/C, with the white reflecting the sun, not to mention its billowy silhouette allows for ample airflow. And last but certainly not least, it’s incredibly versatile; I’ve already worn it with black tank tops and ballet flats as well as knit tops and sneakers.

This is my dream boho-inspired skirt; it has an eye-catching crinkled texture that gives it a bit more dimension, plus adorable ruffle seam detailing from waist to hem. I’m obsessed.
