Everyone knows the great love that the Windsors share for dogs. The late Queen Elizabeth had her corgis, which since her death have been cared for by her daughter-in-law Sarah Ferguson, and King Charles and Queen Camilla are fond of Jack Russell terriers.
This Monday, Queen Camilla visited the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home shelter in London on the occasion of the inauguration of a new dog garden designed by the famous English horticulturist Monty Don. There, she surprised with a stylistic detail perfect for the occasion: a fun brooch in the shape of a dog.
The queen’s accessory, which adorned her favorite blue dress by Fiona Clare, is from the French jewelry firm Van Cleef & Arpels. It is part of the 2017 Lucky Animals collection, which included other brooches in the shape of animals such as horses, lions, squirrels and owls. The model worn by Queen Camilla in particular was crafted from 18-karat gold, onyx and mother-of-pearl; and it is priced at $7,400.
