Police say they have found evidence of an apparent suicide pact between two women who were found dead inside a Michigan home.
The incident occurred at home on Joanne Smith Drive in Warren just after 10:30 a.m. local time on Wednesday, July 16, according to NBC affiliate WDIV-TV and the Detroit Free Press.
The daughter of 73-year-old victim Suzanne Leich found her mom and another 75-year-old woman dead inside the home, FOX affiliate WJBK reported.
The 73-year-old woman sustained a single gunshot wound to the head, while the 75-year-old woman sustained a single gunshot wound to the chest, WDIV-TV reported.
Police said that two handwritten notes found at the scene suggest that the women died in an apparent suicide pact, according to the outlets. Additional evidence found at the home of the 75-year-old woman suggested their deaths were pre-planned.
Additionally, police said a new handgun, which the two women purchased on Tuesday, July 15, was found at the scene.
There were no signs of forced entry or robbery, according to the Free Press.
