Not only am I prone to overheating, but I’m also four months pregnant, so I’ve unfortunately had to give up my precious jeans, at least for now. It’s too hot these days to wear heavy denim anyway, but I also don’t have the time to shave my legs every other day either, so lightweight pants have become my new friends.
And, of course, I’m also hit with the fact that I’m 5-foot-1, so I have to be very careful with shopping online by focusing on short inseams. After a lot of searching, I shopped these five particular styles, and I have to say I’m pleased with my current pant rotation for the season. My summer wardrobe, at least in the bottoms department, finally feels complete.
Best Petite-Approved Pants to Shop
Quince European Linen Wide-Leg Pants
Quince
The soft linen material and relaxed fit of this wide-leg style make them feel as soft as my favorite pajamas, but at least I’m not ashamed to wear them out. I treat olive tones like I treat any other neutral in my wardrobe, and I’ve successfully paired these with halter tops, simple tees, and gauze button-down shirts.
Old Navy High-Waisted Wide-Leg Leggings
Old Navy
The houndstooth print on these flowy pants makes them look a lot fancier than they actually are. Old Navy offers great sizing options as well as regular, petite, and tall inseam lengths. The petite small hits just below my ankle, so even in flat flip-flops, I never trip over the hem. They resemble standard pull-on pants, but they feel incredibly comfy.
Halara High-Waisted Wide-Leg Pants
Halara
I’ve been a fan of Halara since I tried its best-selling Flex High-Waisted Wide-Leg Waffle Work Pants, so I knew I was in good hands while searching for some stretchy pants that I could wear for working from home or a coffee shop. This drawstring style is made from a smooth blend of viscose and nylon but feels as lightweight and crisp as my linen pieces. You really can’t go wrong with any of the pretty color options.
Banana Republic All Day Pant
Banana Republic
Leave it to Banana Republic to hit us with polished yet comfy everyday pants. I love how these airy pants look like standard trousers but feel nowhere near as rigid. They’re made from a balanced combination of moisture-wicking tencel and cotton. I also appreciate the tailored look of the front of these pants, but they’ll grow a bit with my pregnancy, thanks to the elastic band at the back.
Loft Breezy Chambray Wide-Leg Ankle Pants
Loft
When I’m in the mood for jeans, I’ll reach for these breezy chambray pants instead. Since I’m small and afraid of going too far on the oversized front, I usually pair these with fitted tanks or cropped tops. They look and feel effortless without ever appearing sloppy, regardless of the occasion. I love that the flawless ankle length lets me show off my shoes, and you can also shop these in petite and regular inseams.
