Now, this certainly doesn’t rise to the level of Love Story’s Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy “yikes,” but Anne Hathaway’s wardrobe on the set of The Devil Wears Prada 2 is starting to raise some eyebrows. Is this how Andy Sachs would dress once she’s no longer working at Runway? Too trendy? Not stylish enough?
Hathaway was spotted in New York City filming in a colorful dress and bucket hat—not a terrible outfit, but as some commenters on DeuxMoi pointed out, the look has more in common with the famously over-the-top Carrie Bradshaw than mousy Andy. Others are comparing it to Emily in Paris, another show that’s more fashion fantasy than fashion reality, and the original Devil Wears Prada definitely took its cues from the real world of magazines.

In the same set of pictures, we also see Sachs/Hathaway hopping off the Hampton Jitney with a Runway-branded garment bag, so she’s still affiliated with the magazine somehow. Editing the features section with that journalism degree, perhaps?
