SeaVee’s Mary Jane Espadrilles Are Editor-Approved

My go-to summer shoe is always some form of sandal: flip-flops, slides, Birkenstocks, the list goes on. But this year, that’s changed. I own the Miramar Mary Janes in the lustrous chocolate brown. The color looks expensive and goes with everything, though you can also grab them in green, red, and even a few mesh colors (the naked style is another of summer’s biggest trends). But what’s really hooked me on these shoes is what’s inside them: The espadrilles have built-in arch support and extra padding at the heel. 

It was love at first slip-on with these. I put the Mary Janes on, adjusted the straps for a perfect no-slip fit, and stood up. Instantly, I was impressed. These weren’t just soft—I could actively feel the cushioning and support beneath my feet. It was like two Tempur-Pedic pillows had been inserted into my shoes. Before, I almost never wore flats if I knew walking was in the picture, but with these, I can easily do a mile or two. In fact, I feel like I no longer have to forfeit style for comfort.

That comfort is the primary reason why I find myself wearing these pretty much every day, but the fact that they seem to go with just about everything in my wardrobe doesn’t hurt either. I’ve worn these with flowy bermuda shorts, wide-leg jeans, and breezy summer dresses. They’ve been everywhere, too: the office, weekend errands, L.A. restaurants, bars, and soon, the airport.
