President Donald Trump’s newest beef is with The View.
After co-host Joy Behar called Trump “so jealous” of former President Barack Obama during the July 23 episode of the daytime talk show, White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers issued a statement calling Behar “an irrelevant loser.”
“Joy Behar is an irrelevant loser suffering from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome,” Rogers’ statement, sent to Entertainment Weekly, stated.
Rogers went on to claim that The View has “hit the lowest ratings” in recent years, and that Behar “should self-reflect on her own jealousy of President Trump’s historic popularity before her show is the next to be pulled off air.”
A spokesperson for The View responded to the White House’s statement, telling EW that “season to date, The View is ranking No. 1 in households and total viewers among all network daytime talk shows and news programs for the fifth straight season.”

The White House’s statement comes after The View co-hosts discussed Trump alleging that Obama is “guilty” of “treason” during the July 23 episode.
During the show’s Hot Topic section, they played a clip of Trump also saying there’s “irrefutable proof that Obama … was trying to lead a coup.”
“First of all, who tried to overthrow the government on Jan. 6? Who was that again? That was not Obama,” Behar said, referencing the U.S. Capitol riots and attempted insurrection in 2021.
“The thing about [Trump] is that he’s so jealous of Obama, because Obama is everything that he is not: Trim, smart, handsome, happily married and can sing Al Green’s song ‘Let’s Stay Together’ better than Al Green,” Behar continued. “And Trump cannot stand it. It’s driving him crazy.”
This statement from the White House warning that The View will be “the next to be pulled off air” comes in the wake of CBS canceling The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
CBS said in a statement on July 17 that the move was “purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night” and that it “is not related in any way to the show’s performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount.”
The cancellation came days after Stephen Colbert slammed Paramount during the July 14 episode of The Tonight Show, critiquing the company for reaching a $16 million settlement with President Trump on July 3. Trump lodged a lawsuit against the company over what he alleged was a deceptively edited interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential election on CBS News’ 60 Minutes.
Paramount is in the midst of a merger with the entertainment company Skydance, a move that requires approval from Trump’s administration for it to close.
“I absolutely love that Colbert got fired,” Trump wrote in a July 18 post on Truth Social.

The cancellation of The Late Show and the ousting of Colbert have shaken Hollywood, and President Trump has continued to wage a war against late-night television.
In a Truth Social post on July 22, Trump claimed, “The word is, and it’s a strong word at that, Jimmy Kimmel is NEXT to go in the untalented Late Night Sweepstakes and, shortly thereafter, [Jimmy] Fallon will be gone.”
“These are people with absolutely NO TALENT, who were paid Millions of Dollars for, in all cases, destroying what used to be GREAT Television,” he wrote. “It’s really good to see them go, and I hope I played a major part in it!”
Late-night hosts have banded together and voiced their support for Colbert in overt and subtle ways. Even South Park has weighed in on the matter.
