Sixteen years later, Miranda Priestly has returned to conquer the streets of New York. She is of course played by legendary actress Meryl Streep, who was photographed during the filming of the eagerly awaited Devil Wears Prada 2 on July 23.
The sequel to the successful film adaptation of the eponymous book written by Lauren Weisberger was confirmed in the spring after years of speculation, causing a huge stir among editorial fashion fans. And yes, the main cast has returned to step into the designer heels of their famous characters: Anne Hathaway as Andrea Sachs, Emily Blunt as Emily Charlton, and of course, Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly.

A few days after the film’s official release date was announced for May 1, 2026 (brutal that it’s four days before the Met Gala), filming began in the city that never sleeps. The first actor we saw in character was Hathaway, who was photographed on set wearing several looks, including a denim jumpsuit, a long maximalist dress, a denim skirt, and a tailored trouser-and-vest ensemble.
Then it was Streep’s turn to be in front of the cameras, and her first look as the relentless editrix of Runway was much more than we expected: She wore a colorful fall-coded outfit composed of a lilac blouse, a brown leather pencil skirt, orange pumps, and a peach-colored trench coat. Her oversize sunglasses and icy white bixie (a cross between a bob and a pixie) were accounted for as well.
