Sofia Richie Grainge is feeling good in her skin.
In her Vogue “Beauty Secrets” video published on Friday, July 25, the influencer and model opened up about her special bond with her little one, Eloise, whom she welcomed with husband Elliot Grainge in May 2024.
“I think having a daughter made me realize the importance of feeling confident without makeup,” Richie Grainge, 26, said.

“I talk to her a lot about that. I love how I’m saying I talk to her a lot about that, because she’s 1 and she barely speaks, but I am convinced that she can understand me. Therefore, we have deep, deep chats about life,” she said about her toddler, who celebrated her first birthday this past spring.
Despite her recent love for going makeup-free, Richie Grainge still loves to dabble in a bit of glam, particularly the everyday “elegant” routine that includes her favorites high-low products such as Sacheu’s Stay-N Peel Off Lip Liner, Hourglass’ Vanish Airbrush Pressed Powder, Lancôme’s Teint Idole Ultra Wear All Over Concealer and her go-to Chanel blushes.
In fact, getting dolled up is already something she loves to do in Eloise’s company — she has, after all, proven to be the best (and most adorable) assistant.
“One of my favorite things to do with Eloise, actually, is sit down on the floor and do my makeup in the mirror, ’cause she loves it. She thinks it’s like painting on my face. Her new thing is she takes the brushes and she does a little painting on her face.I don’t give her any makeup, I just let her play with the brushes. She’ll hold my products for me and she’ll hand them to me when I need them.”

As she walked through her skin and makeup routine, Richie Grainge also shared her honest reaction to become the face of 2024’s “slick-back bun” trend. In 2023, the star went viral for her easy hairstyling routine that only gained popularity when the “Clean Girl”-core set a new standard for minimalist beauty.
Richie Grainge easily became the face of the aesthetic, but she never anticipated that her bun would make waves.
“It was kind of like a shock to me, how many people cared, just because to me, it was so not a thing. It was just my lazy hairdo that I did. And now, people really know me by this bun,” she said, then explaining that she regrets going through with a major hair transformation that took away her signature look.

“Big mistake, it’s fine,” she joked of her new bob haircut, which she got done in June. “I don’t plan to cut my hair again. I plan to just let it grow and be fresh. It was a postpartum decision, it’s fine.”
Richie Grainge has been open about how parenthood has changed how she preps for a glam red carpet moment. In May, she chatted with Entertainment Tonight about getting ready for the 2025 Met Gala as a new mom.
“You know what, it was a balanced day. I had a half of day with my baby and I had the other half of my day doing the most glam evening, taking a shot of tequila, which I haven’t done in a long time,” she shared of balancing the best of both worlds.
