- Brad Pitt debuted shaggy blonde hair on the set of the Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood sequel.
- The actor is reprising his role as Cliff Booth.
- Pitt has recently been wearing his hair in a gray buzz cut.
Brad Pitt was spotted on set—and with his new shaggy blonde wig, he looks practically unrecognizable. The actor is currently filming the sequel to Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, which sees Pitt reprising his role as Cliff Booth, the friend and stunt double of Leonardo DiCaprio’s Rick. In the first film, Pitt sported a long, swept back blonde ‘do with a strong side part and slightly shaggy ends. For the ’70s-set sequel, it seems the character has let his hair grow even longer—in the first on-set snaps, published by the Daily Mail, Pitt sports a very long, very shaggy blonde wig, along with what appears to be a false blonde mustache.

The look makes for a notable departure from his everyday look, which is a whole lot sleeker. In May, Pitt revived the ultra short buzz cut he once wore in the early 2000s—and he’s been wearing his graying hair super short ever since, including on the red carpet. As the actor told People, the new look was for a character. “I just finished a job,” he said of the buzz. “It’s for a character we did.”

The first film saw Pitt picking up a Best Supporting Actor Oscar—but in the sequel, he is set to be the leading man. The follow-up film, The Adventures of Cliff Booth, which was written by Tarantino and is directed by Gone Girl’s David Fincher, will center around Pitt’s Cliff Booth in the years after the tragic events of the first film. As Pitt said in a recent red carpet interview, the film is “not really a sequel, but an episode from the character in Once Upon a Time.” He added, “Should be really fun.”
