Alexa Lemieux is recalling some tough memories when she and husband Brennon Lemieux were struggling to get pregnant.
The couple, who met and married on season 3 of Love Is Blind, appear on AD Smith’s podcast What’s The Reality in an exclusive clip shared with PEOPLE ahead of the episode’s premiere. In the clip, AD, who also appeared on Love Is Blind, asks Alexa if she could speak about what it was like to go through her infertility struggles.
“It was hard. It was really hard,” Alexa begins. “I was feeling it and then it was hard because…like I just remember one time breaking down. Like, ‘Do you regret marrying me?’ Because we really bonded over having kids together.”
“I don’t know why I’m crying, because I have a baby,” says Alexa, who began to get emotional. “But it was hard, and I just remember thinking that it’s never going to happen.”

Alexa went on to say that her husband, Brennon, was supportive and told her that there were other options that they could explore.
“Then we decided to put a pause because it was a lot of hormones that I was injecting and so mentally I was not doing great at all,” she recalls. “And so I was obviously very, very emotional, and from it was gaining weight, so my body was off and [I was like] I’m gaining weight from all these hormones and I’m not even pregnant.”
“And then I had people online pointing it out all the time, so that was really hard. And then we just kind of decided to pause it. Let’s regroup. And then I got pregnant. And it was a very healthy pregnancy and we’re very blessed for that,” she continues. “It’s not always the case, and so we were very, very lucky.”
Alexa and Brennon welcomed their baby daughter Vienna last July.
When the couple first announced with PEOPLE exclusively that they were pregnant in January 2024, they shared that the journey had been a long one.
“We’ve been trying for almost a year and a half, so it was a lot. I went through some fertility treatments and nothing worked,” Alexa explained at the time. “I was really nervous that maybe we’re never going to be able to have kids.”
“For me personally, and this isn’t how I view women, but I was put on this earth to be a mom,” she continued. “Since I was a child, [I would be asked], ‘What do you want to be when you’re older?’ And people are like, I want to be a princess or an astronaut or whatever it is. I was like, ‘I want to be a mom.’ That’s all I ever wanted to be.”
“And so, it was just a very down time for me. I was really going through it because I’m like I can’t do the one thing that I feel like I was put on this earth to do,” she admitted. “And for me, it strips you of your womanhood. That’s what it felt like. And feeling like I was broken.”
Eventually, however, the couple found out that they’d conceived naturally ahead of setting up their first in vitro fertilization (IVF) appointment. “When I found out, I definitely didn’t think even a little bit that I was [pregnant],” Alexa recalled to PEOPLE. “I took some [tests] and it was positive and I just kept telling him when it came back positive, I was like, ‘My body works, my body works!'”
