The top two shows on Nielsen’s streaming charts held their spots for a second straight week, but both Squid Game and Love Island USA slipped a little bit in viewing time. A pair of movies also had strong openings, with Prime Video’s Heads of State beating out Netflix’s The Old Guard 2 in the United States.
Squid Game topped the rankings for June 30-July 6 with 2.87 billion minutes of viewing for Netflix. That’s the sixth-highest weekly total for any show so far in 2025 — with two of the ones in front of it also being held by Squid Game. The Korean hit had 3.2 billion minutes a week earlier and 4.6 billion in the first week of the year, just after the release of season two.
Love Island USA couldn’t make it four straight weeks of series-high viewing levels, but the Peacock dating show still turned in a very strong 1.7 billion viewing minutes, down just a tick from 1.78 billion the previous week. (Internal figures from Peacock have season seven as the streamer’s biggest show ever.)
Heads of State, an action comedy starring John Cena and Idris Elba, scored 1.1 billion minutes of watch time after its July 2 premiere on Prime Video. It ranked fifth overall among streaming titles in the U.S., one spot ahead of The Old Guard 2, which also debuted July 2 and racked up 964 million minutes.
FX’s The Bear held fairly steady in the second week after its fourth season dropped. Its 892 million minutes of viewing on Hulu was off by just 3 percent from 917 million minutes the previous week. Marvel series Ironheart (536 million minutes) ranked in the top 10 original series for a second week with 536 million minutes (vs. 624 million for its premiere week). Prime Video’s crime drama Countdown made its chart debut with 409 million minutes.
Nielsen’s streaming ratings cover viewing on TV sets only and don’t include minutes watched on computers or mobile devices. The ratings only measure U.S. audiences, not those in other countries. The top streaming titles for June 30-July 6, 2025, are below.
