The Chrisley family is returning to television with a brand-new reality series, The Chrisleys: Back to Reality. The show marks the family’s first time back on screen since Chrisley Knows Best ended two years ago, following the sentencing of Todd and Julie Chrisley for tax evasion and bank fraud.
Now, with their legal troubles behind them—thanks to a high-profile presidential pardon—the family is ready to tell their story from the inside out. Keep reading for everything we know about the new show, the drama behind the scenes, and the first look at the emotional trailer.
When Does ‘The Chrisleys: Back to Reality’ Premiere?
The show will premiere with a two-night television event on Lifetime, airing Monday, September 1, and Tuesday, September 2. Each night will feature a two-hour episode beginning at 8/7c.
Following the premiere, back-to-back episodes will air on Tuesday, September 9, with the season finale set for Tuesday, September 16.
Who’s back?
The Chrisleys: Back to Reality features many familiar faces. Todd and Julie, who led the original series, return alongside their children Savannah, Chase, Grayson and adopted granddaughter Chloe. Fan-favorite Nanny Faye is also back, bringing her signature wit and heart to the new series. Julie’s parents, Harvey and Pam, are joining the show for the first time.
Notably absent are Todd’s older children from a previous relationship, Lindsie and Kyle Chrisley. The estranged siblings are not participating in the new project.
Is There a Trailer?
Yes—and it’s already stirring up emotions. Lifetime released the five-minute trailer on July 31, giving fans a raw glimpse into the family’s current dynamic. The video opens with a phone call between Savannah and her father, who was still incarcerated at the time.
“We will get through this,” Todd tells Savannah. “I don’t know how it’s going to end, but at some point, the truth is going to come out.”
“With my parents gone, our household is completely divided,” Savannah says in the clip. “I told my parents, I don’t know if it can ever be repaired, honestly.”
Chase also reflects on the impact of their previous show, saying, “I don’t think people really understood how big Chrisley Knows Best was. My dad’s this insane human. I think it definitely made good TV.”
“We were filming one thing that was this happy life,” he continues. “Cameras go down, and we’re also fighting a fed case.”
When Were Todd and Julie Released?
Todd and Julie were originally sentenced in November 2022 to a combined 19 years in prison for multiple charges, including bank and wire fraud and tax evasion. Their sentences were reduced in 2023 amid ongoing appeals—but their true turning point came in 2025, when President Donald Trump stepped in.
During a phone call with the Chrisley kids on May 27, 2025, Trump officially announced their pardons.
“It’s a terrible thing, but it’s a great thing, because your parents are going to be free and clean,” Trump said in the recorded call, later shared on X at the time. “I don’t know them, but give them my regards and wish them a good luck.”
