Max Verstappen‘s F1 career is keeping at Oracle Red Bull Racing for the 2026 season!
The 27-year-old Dutch four-time Formula 1 world driver’s champion has been rumored for months to possibly be leaving the team where he’s won all of his titles for Mercedes or maybe even Aston Martin.
Max‘s contract goes through 2028, but there was said to be an exit clause if the car and team were not performing, which has been the case this year. Red Bull is sitting at fourth in the constructors championship, and Max at third in the drivers championship.
Ahead of this weekend’s 2025 Hungarian Grand Prix, Max gave an update to press about where he stands with his race seat, confirming he’s not going anywhere after the end of this season.

“The thing is, people are waffling so much throughout the whole season while the only one that actually can or should speak is not speaking,” he said, via Formula1.com. “That’s me, and I do that on purpose because it makes no sense to start throwing things around and actually that should be the same for everyone.”
“Some people just like to stir the pot, some people just like to create drama but for me it’s always been quite clear and also for next year,” Max continued. “I’m discussing with the team already the plans, the things that we want to change next year, so that means I’m also staying with the team for next year. And if my boat is next to Toto [Wolff]‘s then the boat is next to Toto‘s.
“You can have a personal relationship with someone even if you don’t have a working relationship with someone,” he said, before turning to the media, adding, “I think it’s time to basically stop all the rumours, and for me it’s always been quite clear that I was staying anyway.”
Earlier this month during the two week break from racing, Max was seen on vacation in Italy with family, and at one point, was rumored to be vacationing with Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff, fueling rumors about switching teams even more.
This weekend will mark the second race weekend with new team principal Laurent Mekies, who was promoted over Christian Horner, after the longtime team boss was announced to no longer leading the team.
