Clear your calendars, because Nobody Wants This season 2 is almost here.
Following its debut on Netflix in September 2024, the witty rom-com series instantly rose to the top of the streamers’ viewership lists, per TheWrap. Starring Adam Brody and Kristen Bell, the show follows the love story between Noah, a newly single rabbi, and Joanne, an agnostic sex podcaster, as they attempt to make their relationship work despite major cultural differences.
Following season 1’s dramatic cliffhanger ending, fans and crew alike were thrilled to learn that Noah and Joanne’s story would continue, as Netflix announced in October 2024 that Nobody Wants This was being renewed for a second season.
“The incredible cast, crew, producers and executives all made this into the show it is today, and to experience viewers’ reactions to this series now that it’s out in the world has been more than anything I could have dreamed,” show creator Erin Foster said in a statement. “I’m so lucky to be able to continue this story.”
She added, “Justice for healthy relationships being the most romantic!”
From cast news to its release date, here’s everything to know about Nobody Wants This season 2.
How did Nobody Wants This season 1 end?

The final scenes of the first season of Nobody Wants This left a lot of questions unanswered about Noah and Joanne’s relationship. With his lifelong dream of becoming head rabbi finally in reach, Joanne initially agrees to convert to Judaism — until she comes face-to-face with Noah’s ex-girlfriend Rebecca (Emily Arlook).
Rebecca warns that being the wife of the head rabbi isn’t as simple as it seems, causing Joanne to have a change of heart. She tells Noah that she doesn’t want him to choose between his religion or their relationship and breaks up with him.
Despite her telling him not to, Noah runs after Joanne and is there waiting for her when she gets off the bus. While the ending makes it seem like Noah has chosen Joanne over his new position as head rabbi, that decision isn’t crystal clear. What is clear is that Noah can’t have both, something Foster hinted that she wanted to continue exploring in a September 2024 interview with IndieWire.
“I think this is the kind of show where you want to get the thing you’re there to get and I wanted to give people that moment of, ‘We choose each other, but everyone knows we’re giving up a lot to choose each other, so how are we gonna do it?’ ” she said. “And that, to me, felt like a realistic but still satisfying ending still with conflict, so you have somewhere to go.”

An official synopsis for Nobody Wants This season 2 hasn’t been released yet, but Brody wants to see where Noah and Joanne’s relationship is headed now that they’ve committed to each other.
“I think that’s what the show can explore,” The O.C. actor told Netflix’s Tudum in February 2025. “What should he do? What should she do? What version of sacrifice is worth it? What constitutes growth, or what constitutes dimming yourself to be with someone else? It’s a sacrifice, but ideally, you grow together and you’re better for it — you don’t have to [lop] off a limb.”
While talking to Deadline in February 2025, Brody said that there is ‘very little” he’s able to share about the upcoming season so far, though he did drop a hint about a potential plot line.
“I think repercussions from [Noah] choosing maybe love over work. He’s going to grapple with that,” he said.
