- Jason Biggs’ breakout role was as Jim in American Pie
- While fans always bring up his iconic pie scene in the film 26 years later, it wasn’t his first experience acting around pie
- A recent appearance on Live! With Kelly and Mark unearthed footage that even surprised the actor, 47
Jason Biggs has a longstanding relationship with a good pie.
The actor, 47, appeared on the Monday, Aug. 18 episode of Live! With Kelly and Mark, where he talked about his American Pie legacy and how much his kids Lazlo, 7, and Sid, 11, know about the racy, yet iconic film.
“I’m on the cusp of needing to have a conversation because they certainly have heard about it now,” Biggs told the daytime hosts.
“There was a period where they were sort of oblivious, and people could come up to me if I was with them. They weren’t quite sure what was happening. And now they know that American Pie is something, and they’ve asked about it and I’ve kind of punted it, thinking I have some time.”

Biggs explained that as more people approach and make raunchy jokes about the movie, he’s realized the time is coming. Recounting one incident where someone on a New York City street yelled out, “Hey, it’s the Pie f—–!”, Biggs said, “I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is it. This is the moment I have to explain everything.’ ”
While Biggs isn’t surprised he gets stopped about the film, he was surprised to learn that American Pie wasn’t his first acting experience involving a pie. It actually happened during Biggs’ time on As the World Turns as Pete Wendall, from 1993 to 1994. In a scene unearthed by the talk show, his character avoided going to the hospital for an injury, all in pursuit of pie.
After watching the clip, Biggs was amazed to discover the connection, which he says no one else has ever made.
“I have no recollection shooting that. This is the first anyone… That was impressive, whoever found that,” he laughed.
“This is the first I’ve ever seen that footage. 26 years ago, I did American Pie. You would think… wow… that’s crazy.”

Biggs spoke to PEOPLE exclusively at City Harvest Presents The 2025 Gala: Carnaval in New York City earlier this summer about whether he would like to be part of a potential American Pie 5 movie if it were made.
“Of course, of course, I would. I’ve always said I would 100% be down to work with those people again and to play that character again, and you know, it’s one of the best experiences of my life,” Biggs said of playing Jim.
“I’m very proud of it,” the actor adds of the franchise, which also starred Eugene Levy, Jennifer Coolidge, Seann William Scott, Chris Klein, Tara Reid, Alyson Hannigan, Natasha Lyonne and Eddie Kaye Thomas.
“I’m proud that 26 years later people are still talking about it, so I would for sure do another one,” he concluded.
