TW: disordered eating.
After the success of their documentary about soccer star David Beckham, Netflix is turning its documentary lens on the other half of the superstar couple, Victoria Beckham, FKA Posh Spice, and her journey from pop star to fashion designer. Just over a year ago, the streamer announced production had begun on a new series about the other Beckham, and now reports have begun to come out about the kind of personal and intimate topics discussed in the upcoming show.
(One thing we won’t hear about? The family’s alleged rift with the Peltz Beckhams, as this was filmed last year.)

When was Victoria Beckham’s documentary series filmed?
Netflix announced the start of production on August 21, 2024; the team behind the series also made BECKHAM and Pamela: a love story.
What is the show about?
“My husband convinced me to do this documentary. To be honest, I wasn’t sure anybody would really want to see what I do every day. It focuses on what I do, and my role as founder and creative director of the two brands [which have since merged]. I thought long and hard about it, and then I realized that now is the time to do it. I’ve been very defined by a four-year period in my life when I was in the Spice Girls. And I am so proud of that. But with that came all the preconceptions. I’ve been in the fashion industry creating my own collections for nearly 20 years. And it’s taken this long for me to feel confident enough in what I do and my brand, knowing that now is the time that I can talk about my past. I can talk about the journey, I can talk about struggles, because I can do that confidently feeling it’s not going to damage the brand. Nothing is sugarcoated,” she told Bloomberg. “There are tears. And it did occur to me the other day, what am I going to think when I see those tears on a huge screen? Or on an iPhone? To be completely honest, I am in the hands of the editor now.”
She also hinted that her husband may or may not be in it. “He might end up on the cutting-room floor. I mean, who knows? They have filmed a little bit of David and the children because they’re such a huge part of everything.”
What has Victoria Beckham said about her body image?
On August 17, sources revealed to Page Six that Victoria Beckham opens up about her history of food and body image issues, telling the outlet, “When you look back in hindsight at the media environment in the ’90s, it was super hard. There was a huge scrutiny on Victoria’s appearance and her weight…I think the audience will have some understanding of what she went through.” They also confirmed she will revisit a television appearance in 1999 when she was pressured to weigh herself live on air two months after giving birth to her first child.
