Social media influencers Matt Armato and Beau Ciolino have split up after 12 years of dating.
The former couple – who have been creating content together for over 10 years – is best known as the digital creators behind Probably This, a New Orleans-based LGBTQ lifestyle blog where the two posted about their relationship, recipes and DIY tutorials.
Ciolino and Armato shared a video announcing their breakup via TikTok on Aug. 16. The video was captioned, “Life update 💔 @Beau Felix Ciolino.”
The video opened with Armato saying, “Um, we broke up.”
Ciolino explained that it’s been a privilege to be in a relationship with Armato and share parts of it on social media.
He continued, “I think that there is so much love between us and really loving someone knows when to change the format of the relationship. And we’ve decided to just be best friends.”

Armato laughingly added, “This is like the dumbest video I think I can imagine. This belongs in my journal, not like out there, but I want you to know I’m single.”
“We’re really lucky to be on great terms and to respect each other so much and to still have so much love for each other,” Ciolino said.
Ciolino explained that their split hasn’t affected their friendship. During this process, the two have continued to go on vacation together and will most likely call each other when needed.
Armato concluded, “I’m really grateful to have had you in my life. I’m proud of what we’ve done and I’m proud of what we’re doing right now.”

Armato posted a follow-up statement to their breakup video and a fan’s reaction on his Instagram Stories on Aug. 17.
“This is a deeply painful transition, and while I understand why people are speculating about our dynamic, I don’t want this to become a pile-on against Beau,” Armato wrote, after several fan theory videos about their split surfaced.
He added, “He is not a villain, he is a human, and a really beautiful one at that.”
Armator wrote, “As we said in the video we are still very close and I feel deeply for him [Ciolino]. Please know that there are no teams here. I see your compassion and I appreciate it, but if your support for me looks like tearing him down I don’t want it.”
The pair announced that moving forward, Armato will be running the @ProbablyThis TikTok account while Ciolino will be running their Instagram account.
