Blade has been haunting fans for 27 years.
The superhero film, which was directed by Stephen Norrington, was one of Marvel’s first successful films when it premiered on Aug. 21, 1998. Blade became an instant hit and resulted in two sequels, Blade II (2002) and Blade: Trinity (2004). A Blade reboot starring Mahershala Ali has been in the works since 2019, but has been delayed indefinitely, per Variety.
Blade starred Wesley Snipes as Eric Brooks, also known as Blade, a human-vampire hybrid called the daywalker. Blade becomes a vampire hunter and works to destroy Deacon Frost (Stephen Dorff), the leader of the young vampires. Although his attempt to destroy Frost and protect humankind from vampires nearly costs him his life, Blade becomes more determined than ever to continue hunting vampires.
While several of the film’s actors had already had prominent roles in other movies and television shows, Blade shot many of them into mainstream success. In 2024, Snipes reprised his role in Deadpool and Wolverine, reuniting with Ryan Reynolds (whom he worked with on Blade: Trinity).
“I did not think it was possible,” Snipes told Entertainment Weekly in July 2024. “I didn’t think we would be able to pull it off.”
So, where are the stars of Blade now? Here’s everything to know about where the cast members from Blade are now, 27 years after the Marvel movie’s premiere.
