On Thursday, Aug. 21, the “Hollaback Girl” singer, 55, paid tribute to Zuma on his 17th birthday. The singer added a variety of throwback photos and recent pictures of him throughout the years to her Instagram.
Stefani shares Zuma, Kingston, 19, and Apollo, 11, with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale. They split in 2015, and Stefani later married Blake Shelton.
She included several snaps of her son rocking the country musician look, kicking off the post with him rocking a cowboy hat and denim jacket while he tuned his guitar. She then followed that with a video of her teen serenading the group with a rendition of Zach Bryan’s “Dawns.”
Stefani also added a video of her son preparing to take the stage — dressed in a cowboy hat, flannel shirt, and denim jeans — as Shelton, 49, welcomed him on stage to perform.

“It was so incredible to celebrate Zuma’s 16th birthday with 18,000 people screaming happy birthday,” the proud dad told PEOPLE at the time.

Zuma isn’t the former couple’s only son interested in the music industry. Their eldest son, Kingston, has also performed — and even writes his own songs. In August 2023, Kingston performed publicly for the very first time at the Oklahoma location of Shelton’s Ole Red.
“I was bawling. It’s crazy when you have children, and they learn what their gift is,” Stefani told PEOPLE following the performance.

Shelton has also shared his pride in both teens sharing their talents with the world.
“When they get up there, you would assume they’ve been doing this for 10 years. They’re very comfortable and not rattled at all,” Shelton told PEOPLE in May.
“They have three professional musicians in their life and have grown up standing on the side of the stages watching this their entire life, so they have it in their mind how to be when they get out there — but man, I sure wasn’t that calm when I would get onstage,” Shelton said.
