- While Deal or No Deal contestants could win up to $1 million, Meghan and Chrissy said life was decidedly less glamorous for the models
Meghan Markle and Chrissy Teigen have come a long way since their days as briefcase models on Deal or No Deal.
Teigen joined the Duchess of Sussex on a season two episode of her Netflix lifestyle show, With Love Meghan, and the two discussed everything from family life to the “many chapters” of their respective careers.
“I was thinking about how many moons ago we crossed paths…good old Deal or No Deal,” Meghan, 44, says.
“I feel our lives have had so many chapters and that one being a really important, funny one,” Teigen, 39, agrees. “I remember being basically a backup girl. The alternate.”
Meghan appeared on 34 episodes of the NBC game show between 2006 and 2007, while Teigen appeared on the pilot in 2005 and a season two episode in 2007.

While contestants on the show could win up to $1 million, life was decidedly less glam for the models.
“I remember all standing in line to get our lashes put on, like, in a row,” Meghan shares.
Teigen then says with a laugh: “I do remember coming off stage one day, and they held, like, a Ziploc bag open, and we all took our eyelashes off and just put them in there. And I’m like, ‘Are these for tomorrow?’ And we’d all just close our eyes. What a time, though!”
Long before Suits and Prince Harry, Meghan confessed of the early gig: “I was just so happy to have health insurance.”

Since their Deal or No Deal days, Teigen has gone on to a major modeling career, including the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, a cookware and cookbook line, as well as a high-profile marriage to performer John Legend. The couple shares four kids — Luna, 9, Miles, 6, Esti, 2, and Wren, 2 — and four dogs, a fact that stunned Meghan.
“Oh, and we have two hairless cats now, too,” Teigen tells Meghan of her ever-growing menagerie.
“My kids really want a cat,” Meghan admits of her children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4. “Really want a cat.”
