It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s … a Timex in the image of the Man of Steel, co-created by none other than James Gunn.
The Superman writer-director-producer (and former Icons vocalist) has teamed with Timex on the Superman Marlin Jet Automatic ($369), a limited-edition design that puts a superhero spin on the timepiece company’s Space Age-inspired dress watch. Only 1,000 pieces were made of the the sleek silhouette, which features a 38mm stainless steel case with domed Hesalite crystal, a removable vegan leather strap and 21-jewel Japanese automatic movement.
The bold blue dial is emblazoned with Clark Kent’s iconic S-Shield and red markings and features a date window, while the mineral glass exhibition back is etched with the DC Studios head’s signature. The self-winding movement stores up to 40 hours and the case is water resistant up to 50 meters. The Timex x Superman watch is available for preorder now for mid-November delivery.

Starring David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan and Nicholas Hoult, DC Studios’ Superman soared past $600 million at the global box office and quickly flew into home theaters in order to set up the scene for fans before HBO Max’s Peacemaker season two. The superhero film is available to buy or rent on digital for at-home streaming via Prime Video, Apple TV and other premium video-on-demand platforms; it will likely land on HBO Max later this fall.
The Timex Marlin Jet is a modern twist on a reissued 2017 silhouette, itself based on one of the watch company’s original 1960s designs. It nods to midcentury design and vintage aircrafts, and the Marlin line also includes Chronograph Tachymeter and Moon Phase Multifunction watches, Peanuts-inspired faces and other designs. For Labor Day, Timex is also offering 25 percent off select watches with code Sunset25.
