Aryna Sabalenka may be ready for Georgios Frangulis to put a ring on it.
After a couple got engaged during her match on Friday, Aug. 29, Sabalenka, 27, joked, “I looked at my boyfriend. No pressure!”
The Belarusian tennis pro has been in a relationship with Brazilian entrepreneur Georgios Frangulis since 2024.
In a press conference following Friday’s match, Sabalenka continued, “I think it’s the first time that someone proposed during my match, and it was a very sweet moment, but I I was just trying not to start smiling, you know, because it’s very cute and I believe they are super happy right now, but I was trying to keep focusing on my game.”
Sabalenka wished the couple well. “It was a great moment, and as I said on the court, I wish them to have a happy marriage.”
Sabalenka and Frangulis were first spotted together in April 2024 — a month after the death of Sabalenka’s ex-boyfriend, Konstantin Koltsov, who died by suicide in March 2024.
In an August 2024 interview with PEOPLE, Sabalenka opened up about how Frangulis was her greatest source of support while she grieved her profound loss.
“There was a really tough period where I was really happy to have him by my side, always cheering me up, always making sure that we are doing some fun stuff,” she said.

The Belarusian tennis pro defeated Canada’s Leylah Fernandez for the first time in her career, winning 6-3, 7-6 (2) in 1 hour and 39 minutes before a packed crowd at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, N.Y. Sabalenka previously lost to Fernandez in 2021.
With that, Sabalenka advanced to the fourth round of the US Open for the fifth consecutive year.
