Selena Gomez may have been glowing in Cabo, but her former bestie Nicola Peltz was nowhere to be found.
The 33-year-old singer rang in her bachelorette weekend in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, ahead of tying the knot with fiancé Benny Blanco. On Thursday, August 28, Gomez shared photos of the lavish celebration, which included yacht trips, beach lounging, and bride-worthy looks. The former Disney star was surrounded by her inner circle of girlfriends—but fans were quick to notice that Peltz, 30, was absent.
Once known for their close bond, Gomez and Peltz had previously joked about being in a “throuple” with Nicola’s husband, Brooklyn Beckham. But their friendship appears to have cooled in recent months. “The throuple no longer exists,” a source told The Sun on Friday, August 29, claiming Selena has been “truly disappointed” by Nicola and Brooklyn’s “diva” behavior.
“Selena and Benny are very simple people who enjoy simple things, while Nicola and Brooklyn have turned into divas who always want the last word and think they’re right about everything. Selena got tired of it,” the source added. “She decided to distance herself from them and live her life the way she wants.”
According to insiders, the tension comes as Brooklyn finds himself at odds with his own famous family. Just days before Selena’s celebration, Brooklyn filmed content at the Wigmore Restaurant in London, emphasizing he was there for work only—not to visit parents David and Victoria Beckham. The Beckhams were also snubbed from Brooklyn and Nicola’s vow renewal, which was reportedly “the final kick in the teeth.” Sources have said David and Victoria dislike the way Nicola treats their son, and Brooklyn’s brothers have even shown support for their parents with subtle digs online.
Meanwhile, Selena’s Cabo weekend was full of joy. Among the attendees were Racquelle Stevens, Ashley Cook, Courtney Lopez, Connar Franklin Carpenter and Selena’s cousin Priscilla DeLeon. The bride-to-be stunned in multiple white outfits, including a pearl-adorned halter mini with a “bride to be” veil, and a chic bikini-and-cover-up combo. Her friends went all out decorating their villa with “BRIDE” balloons, “MRS LEVIN” signs, and custom “S+B” merch for Selena and Benny. At one point, the crew even waved giant cutouts of Benny’s face.
The trip was packed with activities: candlelit dinners, a yacht day, a beach movie night screening Wedding Crashers, and plenty of dancing. Connar later gushed on Instagram, calling it “the most special trip celebrating our girl,” while Priscilla admitted she was “still recovering” from the weekend.
Benny, for his part, celebrated his own bachelor bash in Las Vegas, enjoying spa treatments and group dinners. “I’ll never forget this weekend,” he wrote on Instagram Stories, while also leaving heart-eyed emojis under Selena’s Cabo photos.
An insider told Us Weekly the weekend was everything the bride-to-be wanted. “It was a very fun but chill weekend,” the source explained. “These girls have been close to her for over a decade now, so it meant the world to her to celebrate these moments with them.”
“It was your typical, traditional bachelorette and what Selena wanted,” the insider continued. “She was radiating all weekend and was so happy to have downtime with her girlfriends. Selena is a simple girl, and the little things go a long way with her. She truly exudes happiness when she talks about Benny. She is very excited to start this next chapter with him.”
