Savannah Chrisley has drawn a hard line when it comes to drinking with her brother Chase — and one experience was all it took.
“I remember drinking with Chase one time. I think we were, like, I don’t know, 19 [or] 20, and I was like, ‘Never again.’ I will never drink with him again,” Savannah, 28, revealed on the September 2 episode of her “Unlocked” podcast. “I’ve always known how Chase acts when he drinks, right? So from that point forward, I said, ‘I will never drink with him again.’ And I have not.”
Savannah’s mom, Julie Chrisley, 52, joined her on the episode but opted not to dive deeper into Chase’s behavior. “I’m not going to go down that vein of Chase’s story because hopefully Chase will tell his own story one day,” Julie explained. Savannah reminded her mother that his story is “public,” likely referencing an incident from January.
Chase, 29, was arrested after allegedly slapping a bar manager in Atlanta. He was released on a $10,000 bond, and his attorney maintained the altercation was “entirely blown out of proportion.” The bar employee ultimately chose not to press charges.
The arrest has been revisited in the Chrisleys’ new Lifetime docuseries, The Chrisleys: Back to Reality, which premiered its first two episodes on September 1. During the show, Chase admitted he didn’t “remember a lot” from that night and insisted he “wouldn’t slap somebody.” He acknowledged hitting “rock bottom” and drinking heavily after his parents’ imprisonment.
Todd and Julie Chrisley were convicted of tax evasion and bank and wire fraud in 2023 and served 28 months before being pardoned by President Donald Trump in May. Upon their release, the couple reunited with their children and resumed family life. The arrests also led to the cancellation of Chrisley Knows Best and its spinoff, Growing Up Chrisley.
“I 100 percent took the show for granted,” Chase reflected in episode 2 of the docuseries. “It was, like, the best job in the world. After my parents went away, when I started drinking, I would just go and go and go and go. [I] wasn’t setting any boundaries for myself and didn’t really have anybody to tell me no.”
The Chrisleys’ new docuseries continues on Lifetime with two more back-to-back episodes on September 9, leading to the finale on September 16 at 8 p.m. ET.
