Is Jennifer Aniston pioneering a new trend?
More and more, celebrity parents are choosing to preserve the anonymity of their children by keeping them off social media, posting them sparingly or, as is becoming increasingly common, keeping their faces hidden or obscured. Look through, say, Gigi Hadid’s or Mindy Kaling’s feeds and you’ll find plenty of motherhood moments, but nothing that would make you able to pick their offspring out from a lineup. It’s a clever and respectful way to toe the line of living privately in public.
Now, Aniston seems to applying the same principle to her new relationship, going Instagram-official with reported boyfriend Jim Curtis by posting a picture … of the back of his neck … deep in a dump of summer snaps. (Offline, the pair were spotted going out to dinner on Friday, September 5 in New York City, per Page Six.)

Genius? Random? Clickbait? Well, we clicked and we will click again.
Of course, Curtis is an adult, and a public figure at that (he’s published a book and maintains a very public IG profile of his own, which Jen did not tag), and we all already know what he looks like, so this isn’t exactly the same thing. But is the strategy sort of similar? A tease here, a soft-launch there until it’s time for the big face reveal? Also pictured in the post: dogs, Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, the gym, Adam Sandler, Sandra Bullock, Courteney Cox. It must be kinda fun to be Jennifer Aniston, huh.
Well, this post may have been a bit of a tease, but we’re in for all the juice and drama we can handle when The Morning Show comes back (fi-na-lly) on September 17 for a 10-episode fourth season. Marion Cotillard is about to join the show and we need to see her shake things up!
