Warning: The Wrong Paris spoilers ahead!
Netflix’s romantic comedy The Wrong Paris exemplifies just how easily life can take a detour.
The movie, which premiered on Sept. 12, stars Miranda Cosgrove as Dawn, a woman yearning to go to art school in France, but without the funds to make her dream happen. When the reality TV dating competition The Honeypot seems like the best chance to make her dream come true, she auditions with the encouragement from her family and makes the cut.
However, the promise of a trip to Paris, France, goes south when producers reveal a major twist to the contestants — they’re actually being sent to Paris, Texas.
Dawn, along with several other women — including characters played by Madison Pettis and Madeleine Arthur — are left vying for the heart of Trey (Pierson Fodé). He’s a handsome horse-riding bachelor whom Dawn just so happened to have slow-danced with at a bar weeks before the show.
While their banter is good, Dawn is committed to getting eliminated early on and taking her $20,000 appearance fee to fund her trip to France. But when her roommate, Jasmine (Christin Park), tells her there’s additional money to be won during the challenges, Dawn puts in more effort to extend her time at Silver Spur Ranch and with Trey.
As time passes, her feelings for Trey deepen, but she’s hiding one secret from him: her plans to leave Texas and pursue her dream of attending art school.
So, who takes home the win on The Honeypot, and does Dawn ever make it to Paris? Here’s everything to know about the ending of The Wrong Paris, including the fate of Dawn and Trey.
How does The Wrong Paris end?
Netflix
Throughout her time on The Honeypot, Dawn kept her big secret about art school, with only two people knowing the truth: one of the show’s producers, Rachel (Yvonne Orji) and her roommate, Jasmine. But her undeniable chemistry with Trey puts her secret at risk. Their strong connection put Dawn on the radar of her nemesis on the series, Lexi (Pettis), who has grown suspicious of her motives.
After one of the “spur” ceremonies (rather than roses), Trey finds Dawn in her room, and the two sneak away from the ranch without the watchful eye of the cameras and microphones. They drive to another part of the property, where Trey shows Dawn his favorite spot, which was his hideout growing up. While they sit by the water, they confess their feelings for each other, though Dawn tells Trey that the timing of their connection is not right.
Instead of heading back to the ranch, Dawn takes Trey back home. In a moment of vulnerability for Dawn, she shows him her art, including a piece featuring a golden apple, representing what she describes as “the impossible dream.” Since he’s known from the beginning how much she wanted to go to Paris (just not why), he presents her with an offer: go to Paris with him in the finale, spend a few weeks in the city and then return to Texas.
Dawn decides to seize the opening to confess the truth to Trey, but is interrupted by the show’s production team. The missed opportunity ultimately becomes her demise because Lexi snooped around Dawn’s room while she was away and discovered her acceptance letter, which she later shows to Trey off-camera.
That night at the spur ceremony, Dawn believes that Trey’s kind words during his speech were directed toward her, but she was mistaken. She’s blindsided at the ceremony when Trey gives his final spur to Lexi, causing Dawn to get sent home, confused and alone.

After she returns home, her family encourages her to continue her journey to art school, and Dawn heads off to Paris the following day.
Her travel day is captured on-screen, and viewers are given a glimpse of her life in the City of Lights as she explores her new surroundings. Her time in art school is also captured, with Dawn receiving positive feedback on her piece during a sculpting class.
While in Paris, she’s surprised at a café by Rachel, who tells her that the show’s finale is being filmed the next day. Dawn pretends she’s uninterested, but finds out that Jasmine and Lexi have made it to the finale (though Rachel says she’s still rooting for Dawn and Trey).
Though Dawn is still confused about why she was eliminated from the show, Rachel reveals the truth about Lexi telling Trey about her acceptance to art school and the two-year program.
Who wins The Honeypot?

Well, technically, nobody.
After Dawn is eliminated from the show, Trey is left with several eligible bachelorettes. Dawn briefly returns home and, as planned, uses the money earned from her appearance on The Honeypot to fund her trip to Paris to study in art school. While there, she receives a surprise visit from Rachel, who got Dawn’s new address from the accounting team, and paid her a visit before the finale of the dating competition.
Rachel gives Dawn an option: If she forfeits all her winnings from the show, she can appear in the finale and explain everything to Trey. Dawn wrestles with the decision, as she needs the money to stay in Paris, but ultimately decides to show up and try to make things right with Trey.
While he’s waiting for one of his bachelorettes, Dawn surprises him on the balcony to apologize to Trey. She confesses that although she initially schemed to get on the show to make money for school, she fell in love for real along the way. However, her explanation is not enough for Trey, so she leaves him with one parting gift, the golden apple from her art piece.
Shortly after, Trey finds out that Dawn sacrificed her winnings (and thus her Paris funds) to have a second chance, and he chases her down. Trey then encourages Dawn to stay in Paris for school and comes up with a creative solution that will allow them both to get what they want.
With the cameras back on the couple, Trey pops the question to Dawn — will she take the money, or the honey? Instead of taking the engagement ring, she decides to take the money, leaving Trey effectively “single.” That is, until the couple share a kiss with the Eiffel Tower twinkling in the background and basking in their workaround.

While Dawn turns down Trey’s proposal on the finale of The Honeypot, it’s not the end of their relationship.
The movie’s end credits featured a glimpse into Dawn and Trey’s future, capturing their cross-continental romance through the seasons. Snaps included photos of Trey with Dawn’s family, a couple’s photo on New Year’s Eve, pictures from a spring break vacation and the next milestone in their relationship: an engagement.
Before the credits break to a blooper reel, photos from Dawn and Trey’s engagement roll, including a picture from when he popped the question. In another photo, they posed together with Dawn showing off the ring, followed by a snap of the pair holding hands in front of the Eiffel Tower, with her massive rock on full display.
