Netflix has unveiled first look images for the debut season of “The Abandons,” which is set to premiere on Dec. 4.
The Western drama series takes place in 1854 and follows two matriarchs of different families. The show’s official logline states, “One of wealth and privilege bound by blood, the other a found family of orphans and outcasts bound by love and necessity find their fates linked by two crimes, an awful secret, a star-crossed love and a piece of land with silver underneath.”
It continues, “The collision echoes the American struggle of the haves and have-nots, in a place just beyond the reach of justice.” The show was created by Kurt Sutter, who has an executive producer credit; other EPs are Chris Keyser, Robert Askins, Stephen Surjik, Otto Bathurst, Emmy Grinwis and Jon Paré.
The series stars Lena Headey, Gillian Anderson, Nick Robinson, Diana Silvers, Lamar Johnson, Natalia del Riego, Lucas Till, Aisling Franciosi, Toby Hemingway, Michael Greyeyes, Ryan Hurst, Katelyn Wells, Clayton Cardenas, Elle-Maija Tailfeathers, Brían F. O’Byrne, Marc Menchaca, Patton Oswalt, Michael Ornstein, Jonathan Koensgen, Jack Doolan, Michiel Huisman, Haig Sutherland and Sarah White.

Bloomberg Media has unveiled the official trailer for its “An Optimist’s Guide to the Planet,” which premieres on Oct. 22.
Hosted by actor and climate advocate Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, the series highlights individuals and communities who are driving humanity toward a brighter, more sustainable future.
The six-part season will air Wednesdays at 8 pm on Bloomberg Originals and will be available on major streaming platforms such as Samsung TV+, Amazon Prime Video and LG channels. It will also air at 10 p.m. ET on Bloomberg TV and be available on demand on Bloomberg.com and YouTube.
Coster-Waldau travels to the Andean mountains, the Ganges River, the Ecuadorian rainforest, Paris and more. The new season will showcase stories revolving around Denmark’s efforts to restore coastal dead zones, India’s inspiring mangrove reforestation projects and the voices of the Achuar people of Ecuador, who share their vision for a sustainable future.

Plimsoll Prods. and Blumhouse Television have released the official trailer for their new horror and natural history crossover series, “Nightmares of Nature.”
Narrated by Maya Hawke, the first set of episodes will be released on Sept. 30 with the second batch premiering on Oct. 28. “Nightmares of Nature” centers on animal heroes fighting to survive the real-life horrors found within nature.
Plimsoll Prods. CEO Grant Mansfield, who’s also an executive producer on the series, said, “I can promise you’ve never seen a natural history show like this. When you combine wildlife and horror, some weird and very entertaining things happen. Working with Blumhouse Television on this show has been a blast and I think this will be a real Halloween treat for audiences everywhere.”

“Married at First Sight” has found a new home on Peacock and the streamer has released its first official trailer for its Season 19 premiere on Oct. 23.
The new season will launch with a four-episode premiere. The eight-week social experiment continues with 10 singles in Austin, Texas. They each marry a stranger and decide whether to build a future together or go their separate ways. Returning to guide and support the newlyweds on their journeys are experts Pastor Cal Roberson, Dr. Pepper Schwartz and Dr. Pia Holec.
Peacock will release 13 episodes and a reunion. Following the first four episodes on Oct. 23, new episodes will drop on Thursdays in multi-episode batches.
“Married at First Sight” is produced by Kinetic Content with Chris Coelen, Eric Detwiler, Montré Burton, Erica Kessler, Heather Crowe, Karrie Wolfe and Katie Griffin serving as executive producers.

Prime Video has unveiled the official trailer and first look images for Season 2 of its original series, “Maxton Hall – The World Between Us.”
The second season airs on Nov. 7 with three new episodes arriving on the platform, followed by a new episode each week until its finale on Nov. 28. Produced by UFA Fiction, the new season is based on Mona Kasten’s novel series “Save You.”
The official description for Season 2 states, “After their passionate night together in Oxford and her greatest life goal within reach, everything seems to be going perfectly for Ruby (Harriet Herbig-Matten). But a stroke of fate in James’ (Damian Hardung) family changes everything and James himself, of all people, brings her back from cloud nine to a harsh reality.”
The summary continues, “Ruby is devastated. She has never had such strong feelings for anyone as she does for James – and she has never been so hurt by anyone either. She wants her old life back, where no one at Maxton Hall knew her and she wasn’t part of the elitist world of her classmates. But she can’t forget James – especially since he’s doing everything he can to win her back.”
The remaining cast includes Sonja Weißer as Lydia, Ben Felipe as Cyril, Fedja van Huêt as Mortimer, Runa Greiner as Ember, Justus Riesner as Alistair, Andrea Guo as Lin, Frederic Balonier as Kieran and Eli Riccardi as Elaine.

Prentiss Fraser, president of Fox Entertainment Global, has announced Matt Hanna as senior vice president of sales across the Americas.
“Matt’s proven track record in driving sales and forging partnerships will be instrumental as we expand our programming reach across the Americas,” Fraser said in a statement. “His strategic insights, strong relationships, and passion for the industry make him an invaluable addition to our executive team.”
Hanna will lead the licensing and distribution strategy and be responsible for the execution of FOX’s content monetization strategy, maximizing the value of original and acquired IP across linear, digital, transactional, ancillary and emerging platform models.
Additionally, he will oversee all sales in the U.S., Canada and Latin America, as well as revenue share and transactional.
Hanna is a senior media executive with 20 years of experience in content licensing, distribution and digital strategy. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of Global Distribution at Sony Pictures Entertainment, where he led multi-territory and global film and television licensing deals.
