Alec shared he was driving his wife Hilaria’s car when he swerved off the road to avoid hitting a garbage truck
Celebrity brothers Alec and Stephen Baldwin were involved in a car crash on Monday, but confirmed no one was injured. Both brothers shared that they are safe after photos surfaced online of the Baldwins walking out of a smashed Range Rover in East Hampton, New York, that morning.
On Monday evening, Alec shared a video confirming that he crashed the vehicle, which he said is registered to his wife, Hilaria.
“This morning, I was in this car accident. The guy cut me off in a truck, big garbage truck — I mean a garbage truck the size of a whale,” Alex said. “To avoid hitting him, I hit a tree. I hit a big fat tree and crushed my car, my wife’s car.”
Alec said he felt “bad” for crashing Hilaria’s car but shared that he and his brother are “fine.” He also thanked the local police department for helping them after the accident.
“My wife’s car is pretty smashed up. Big tree, big fat tree. I’m going to L.A. to see my family, can’t wait — going out to California to gather my family together,” he said, before reiterating that he’s fine and making a cuckoo sign in jest.
A rep for Stephen told Rolling Stone that the pair of brothers were doing OK as well. The East Hampton Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
“Stephen is doing fine and is grateful no one was injured,” Stephen’s rep said. “He appreciates the concern and he can confirm that he and Alec are both safe and well.”
