“A few years ago, almost nobody in LA would admit to using Ozempic. It was all very mysterious and nobody was super-open about it,” she wrote, clarifying that she has no judgment toward anyone using these medications as they can be “truly transformative” for some.
“But when I see people who are already thin signing up for it, I can’t help but think of how body trends keep shifting,” Ashley said, “We keep moving the goalposts and it’s exhausting. What makes it harder is the nonstop online commentary.”
The constant scrutiny, she added, causes people to feel like “no matter what they do, they’ll be judged.”
“You really can’t win. Which is why, at the end of the day, the only thing that matters is how you feel in your own body,” she said.
Ashley also admitting she has been “tempted” to try Ozempic but ultimately decided it wasn’t the right choice for her.
The High School Musical actress is far from the first star to be openly critical of Ozempic. In August, Jameela Jamil called out Serena Williams, and celebrities in general, for promoting GLP-1s without properly acknowledging their potentially damaging side effects.
