Hailey Bieber is used to being candid about her face. As the founder of Rhode, the 28-year-old’s skin is practically her calling card, though she does not use it to promote her own products alone.
What’s refreshing about Bieber as a business owner is her transparency and willingness to share the other products she relies on to achieve her signature “glazed donut skin,” from Medicube’s PDRN Pink Collagen Gel Masks to the prescription antibiotic she uses to combat perioral dermatitis flare-ups. Now, she’s opening up about the more intense treatments she does and does not utilize.
During an appearance on In Your Dreams With Owen Thiele, Bieber revealed she gets masseter Botox injections for TMJ (temporomandibular joint) relief, but will not consider cosmetic Botox until she turns thirty.
“I don’t have any Botox, except for in my jaw for TMJ, but I have no Botox in my face,” she tells Thiele. “I made a commitment to myself that I wasn’t gonna do any Botox until I was in my 30s. When I get there, I’ll see if I even want to do it, but my mom has no Botox. My mom does nothing to her skin and she looks insane.”
That doesn’t mean Bieber’s opposed to other minimally invasive treatments, telling Thiele she “love[s] PRP with micro-needling.” Often referred to as a vampire facial, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatments involve drawing the client’s blood, separating out the red blood cells and injecting the platelet-rich plasma back into the face with micro-needles.
Bieber says she’s also a fan of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) treatments, a similar concept that uses the client’s blood to create a filler for targeted injections. “I’ve injected my smile lines. I’ve injected it under my eyes,” she says. “They take your blood, but it’s called easy gel and, basically, they heat it and then they cool it and it kind of makes your blood a gel consistency…Then you inject it, so I’ve done that, which I loved.”
Bieber continues, “I like to do things that I can trust is from your own body. and I’m just consistent with things like that. I do that a couple of times a year. I’ve done light little lasers before, but that’s it.”
