Dakota Johnson just revealed her favorite jeans (and you know she’s got a great eye for denim).
“I don’t feel like I’m aware of what looks good on me,” Johnson said in her recent Vogue Germany cover interview—a sentence you may not expect to hear from this particular source. We’re talking about Dakota Johnson, who can certainly be described as a contemporary style icon. She regularly wows photographers and journalists with her glamorous red carpet appearances, and her mostly casual yet stylish off-duty looks serve as a styling template for more than just her fans. There are now accounts on Instagram that analyze the actress’ outfits in detail and present the exact pieces of her styling in no time at all. One of the most famous of these, @dakotajohnsonscloset, currently has over 71,000 followers.
Understandably, the everyday basics that Dakota Johnson wears are of great interest to all those who want to recreate her looks. After all, apart from the film industry, there are only a few people who regularly need gowns for red carpets and events.
And so, in the aforementioned cover interview with Dakota Johnson, Vogue made sure to ask about her current favorite jeans.
Dakota Johnson’s favorite jeans are from Levi’s and a Californian brand
During her Vogue interview, Dakota Johnson talked about a major closet clean-out she had recently completed: “There are things from all over the world, pieces from my mother or that I’ve accumulated myself,” she revealed. “It’s crazy because you often end up wearing only jeans. Even right now, I’m wearing jeans and a sweater, but I always choose these pieces very carefully.”
When asked about her current preferred choice when it comes to jeans, the actor subsequently revealed: “Always vintage Levi’s. If you find a good pair—real ones, not altered ones!—they’re the classic that always looks good. And I really like Agolde jeans.”
In fact, the Hollywood star has already been spotted in public wearing Agolde jeans. In September 2024, for example, Dakota Johnson showed off a stunning look in New York’s Tribeca district. It consisted of a red polo sweater and light blue, wide-legged jeans, which Dakota Johnson paired with square-toe slingback flats. The Agolde jeans impressed with a “casual (but not too conspicuous) baggy silhouette and extra-long, straight-cut legs,” as Vogue Germany writer Katharina Fuchs described at the time.
