Rob Kardashian has officially made his return to reality TV after eight years out of the spotlight.
The 38-year-old made a surprise appearance in the season seven premiere of The Kardashians in October 2025, marking his first major on-camera moment since stepping away from reality TV in 2017. And according to his sister Kim Kardashian, Rob’s reappearance wasn’t a fluke—it’s a sign he’s in a much better place.
“If he’s in the mood and in a good headspace to know that he wants to put himself out there,” Kim explained during an October 28 appearance on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy with Andy Cohen. “He’s so down. And he’s great and silly and it’s just been a choice for him to just want to chill a little bit.”
Kim added that Rob “feels good” about showing up again, especially for the emotional moment filmed at their mom Kris Jenner’s old home. “He wants to be on,” she said.
For Kim and her sisters—Kourtney, Khloé, Kendall and Kylie—having Rob back on the show feels special, but there’s no pressure for him to stay in front of the cameras. “Obviously we want to respect whoever doesn’t want to be on,” Kim said. “All of us don’t have to have the same dreams and goals. So, he changed his up a little bit and now, he’s like, ‘I don’t mind it.’”
Rob, who shares his 8-year-old daughter Dream with ex Blac Chyna, has previously opened up about why he distanced himself from filming. “I don’t wanna be filming and putting myself in a position where I’m not comfortable,” he explained during a July appearance on Khloé in Wonder Land. “I’m not comfortable in my skin, so why would I want to go be on camera and just be vulnerable and let people in when that’s not what I want to do?”
Still, the Rob & Chyna alum made it clear that his absence had nothing to do with family drama. “There’s definitely nothing wrong between any of us,” he said. “It just has everything to do with myself.”
