16 and Pregnant alum Maci Bookout celebrated her son Bentley Edwards’ 17th birthday in a sweet tribute post, and fans can’t believe how grown up the teen is.
“How is my Benny 17 years old? Happy Birthday @bentleycedwards,” Bookout, 34, wrote alongside two photos of her and her eldest son on the beach via Instagram on Monday, October 27. “I Love you beyond measure!”
In the photos, Bentley and Bookout took turns giving each other piggy back rides as they playfully laughed together. Alongside the photos, Bookout included the hashtags “benny baby,” “sweet seventeen” and “happy birthday.”
Shortly after Bookout shared the post, several fans took to the comments section to note how fast Bentley has grown up. “We really watched him grow up,” one person commented, while another chimed in, “17?? Omgggg. Most of us been Team Bentley since 16 & pregnant. Happy Birthday.”

Meanwhile, others gushed about how sweet Bookout and Bentley’s bond is. “Literally watching your first episode right now because I’m feeling nostalgic and I LOVE how much you’ve continued to evolve. You’ve always been that girl!” a third fan commented, with another social media user writing, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY BENTLEY! I remember when he was born. He’s always been a great kid. [Maci], you are a great mom and has always been about your business.”
Bookout welcomed Bentley in 2008 with her then-boyfriend, Ryan Edwards. Following her split from Ryan, 37, Bookout went on to welcome kids Jayde, 10, and Maverick, 9, with her husband, Taylor McKinney, whom she married in 2016.
Fans of 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom have watched Bookout evolve as a mother, and her messy coparenting relationship with Ryan has been a popular storyline over the years. While the coparents haven’t always seen eye to eye amid his addiction struggles and legal issues, Bookout previously told In Touch that her and Ryan’s relationship was in a good place.

“I would say I would describe it as, um, healthy. It’s definitely healthier,” she told the outlet in January. “It’s, I mean, we still have a long way to go, but it’s much more stable and stronger than it’s ever been and than I ever thought it could be, to be honest.”
However, she noted that the coparenting change didn’t happen overnight. “It took a lot of self-awareness and accountability, but also, um, patience and just a lot of individual work,” she said. “You know … everyone involved had to do a lot of work on themselves for all of us to be where we are now.”
