Charlie Day
From One Luigi to Another
… I Love Your Work, Mangione!!!

Charlie Day couldn’t resist jumping on the Luigi Mangione bandwagon in a recent interview … laughing out loud while ranking the accused murderer among his favorite Luigis.
The actor took a few questions alongside his ‘Super Mario Galaxy Movie’ costars Anya Taylor-Joy and Keegan-Michael Key in Tokyo for the comedy podcast “Tintoria” … and he was asked specifically who his favorite Luigi is “in recent American history?”

The trio of celebs immediately break into grins … because it’s clear what the hosts are fishing for here, and Day, who play’s Mario’s brother, Luigi, doesn’t disappoint.
He says he’s top of the Luigi game, but Mangione comes in second.
Anya tries to smother her smile, but Keegan-Michael bursts into raucous laughter … clearly tickled by his fellow funnyman.
Of course, there are a whole lotta people who aren’t going to appreciate the joke … after all, Mangione is facing both state and federal charges related to the 2024 murder of UnitedHealthCare CEO Brian Thompson.
While Day’s cracking jokes in Japan, Mangione is still in federal lockup … and, just yesterday, it was announced his NY state murder trial won’t start until September.
Looks like Day jumped right into the controversy plumbing pipe on this one. Charlie’s rep couldn’t be reached for comment.
