J.Crew’s Rouje Collaboration Is Trending for Summer 2025

J.Crew, the classic American brand I love, just dropped a collection with Rouje, the French brand celebrities including 64-year-old Julianne Moore are loyal to—and it’s going to sell out.

The collaboration is easily the best thing I’ve seen this month, and it might just take the crown for summer’s chicest drop. The trending collection includes 17 styles that perfectly fuse Rouje’s French elegance with J.Crew’s classic American prep. TBH, I want everything from it, but if I had to choose just five items, these are the ones I’d grab.

Swoon Slip Dress

It was love at first sight when I saw the Swoon slip dress (dare I say that I swooned?). It has everything I want in a slip: a silky construction, body-skimming fit, plus a little more. Those polka dots, a personal favorite, continue to be one of this year’s biggest trends, and I can’t stop obsessing over the floral ribbon that’s stitched along the trim of the dress and finishes in a big bow. 

Sirène Sweater Dress

This ‘90s-inspired little black dress is another one I’m grabbing before it sells out. The knit style is timeless and toes the line between cute and elegant. It hits just above the knees and has a slim fit and square neckline, while featuring sweet details like scalloped edges and an adjustable tie just below the bust. That duality makes this a great day-to-night staple; wear it with boots and a blazer for the office, then change into strappy black heels at night.

Ballade Short-Sleeve Cardigan

The collection includes the Ballade short-sleeve cardigan, a.k.a. the perfect top to take you from summer to fall. The cherry red sweater is made from lightweight cotton and features an open-stitch knit, making it breathable enough for this muggy July. You can wear it as a top, buttoning it all the way up and pairing it with high-waisted jeans, or layer it over your favorite dress for a little more warmth.

Poème Skirt

My favorite slip skirt is from J.Crew—it’s flattering, looks way more expensive than it really is, and has a stretchy waist that makes it seriously comfy—so, I was immediately sold on this pale pink one. Its knee length makes it incredibly wearable (not too short for work, not too long for everyday) and those lace details dress it up. Plus, I love that adjustable tie at the waist that’s practical and cute.

Poet Top

The Poet Top is a classic J.Crew blouse, from its flattering darted waist to the cute floral print, but with a romantic French touch—namely, that lace trim. It’s still perfect for everyday wear (just add jeans!), but if you want to dress it up, you could always pair it with the matching skirt.
