Two months after making their red carpet debut at the American Music Awards in May, country music star Zac Brown and popular jewelry designer Kendra Scott are sharing big news.
In an exclusive statement shared with People, Brown and Scott revealed they are engaged to be married.
“We are so happy and grateful that we found each other,” Brown and Scott told People in a statement. In photos from their engagement, People reports that Brown proposed with a pink diamond ring.
Up until their debut at the American Music Awards, Brown and Scott have kept their relationship private.
In continuing the celebration of their engagement, Brown performed at the Today show on Friday, July 25. Scott was in the crowd, supporting her new fiancé.
Following his band’s performance, Brown was asked about the proposal. “Are you just soaking it all in this morning?” the reporter asked Brown, who was still standing on stage.
“I am. I’m blessed,” Brown responded as Scott smiled lovingly up at her soon-to-be husband. “How are you feeling? How’d you pop the question?” the reporter followed up.
“I feel great. No, I got her good,” Brown continued, adding that the pressure was on when picking out a ring for a renowned jewelry designer.
“But no, it’s incredible, incredible. So happy,” Brown told the Today show. “We’re so happy we found each other and we’re blessed. So it just adds so much energy to everything else, more to give to music, more to give to our families and everything. So, we’re blessed.”
With their union, Brown and Scott will become a blended family of 13.
Brown is a father of four daughters and one son; Justice, Lucy, Georgia, Joni and Alexander, whom he shares with his first wife, Shelly Brown.
Scott is a mom of six kids, four son and two daughters.
Less than two years ago, Brown announced his divorce from his second ex-wife Kelly Yazdi after only four months of marriage. According to Country Rebel, the divorce was finalized in January.
On Tuesday, July 23, Scott shared photos of herself and Brown fishing together in Alaska shortly before the news of their engagement was made public.
“Family, fishing and adventures in Alaska a few weeks ago. 🩵🗻🎣 This place really is something special,” she captioned the post. “Every direction you turn, the views just take your breath away. I love experiencing your favorite places, Zac Brown. Let’s go back!”
“I loved showing my lady her new home,” Brown commented on the post.
