NEED TO KNOW
- TikTok star and comedian Connor Wood spoke exclusively with PEOPLE in advance of the upcoming extended leg of his popular Fib & Friends tour
- During his conversation, he admitted that he isn’t in the business of paying attention to rumors about himself
- Wood also called his tour his career’s “pinch me” moment
Connor Wood is no stranger to sharing deeply personal details with the internet.
The social media star and stand-up comedian, who rose to fame on TikTok during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic for his comedic approach to being laid off from his job, is constantly sharing updates and snippets from his life with his followers on all platforms — including his national tour.
But despite the wide variety of platforms Wood — who’s best known to his online followers as “Fibula” — uses to share his life, he maintains that he’s not paying attention to the noise that might be circulating about him.
In fact, he jokes to PEOPLE, “I don’t have rumors about me, probably.”
Wood’s approach to tamping down rumors is slightly unconventional, but he gets ahead of the curve by oversharing on his own terms.

“I don’t pay attention … I think I just say everything about myself so people know what’s true and what’s not,” he tells PEOPLE. “I don’t know rumors about me and I don’t want people to be like, ‘Well, I heard one in the comments,’ so I just won’t touch it.'”
His two-year-long Fib & Friends tour, which sold out 34,500 tickets across 103 shows nationwide and just recently added 10 more cities to its final leg due to popular demand, is just another place Wood gets to engage with fans on his own terms. On tour, he frequently shares relatable moments from navigating life in his 20s and new material following his recent move to New York City.
He’s also been a special guest on select dates of Jake Shane’s tour, where he’s been vulnerable — in more ways than one.
“Last unhinged moment from tour was I came out really hot on my last show and I kind of ‘Benson Boone-d’ a little bit,” Wood tells PEOPLE. “I jumped onto stage. I came running from behind [the] stage to get everyone really excited. I ran into the wall and I cut my arm completely open.”
Unlike most other moments in Wood’s life, this incident stayed under wraps for longer than usual. “I didn’t want to tell anyone because it was the last show, and I was like, ‘I’m not rescheduling. We’re doing this.’ And I got three stitches.”

Thankfully, not all moments from his time on the road with Jake Shane were as painful, and in fact, some moments were unexpectedly cozy.
“We were stuck together. We rode the bus together, which is really funny because … he was in the back in his bed, I was in the coffin bunk bed, which I loved,” Wood tells PEOPLE of his accommodations.
“I’m actually going to, in my long-term home, I’m going to invest in a coffin-style bunk bed because I sleep so good. It’s like cos-playing being dead. It’s just cold and quiet.”

“I think maybe there is a niche space that’s open for me to start a coffin mattress company,” Wood jokes.
In October 2024, Wood spoke with PEOPLE exclusively about his meteoric rise to fame. After losing his job at online dating company Bumble when the COVID-19 pandemic began, Wood and his friends (who lived together in Los Angeles at the time) created videos and posted them online until his friends were able to go back to work.
Wood continued to create content. “I was posting videos about that whole process,” he says of his search-for-employment grind that “ended up being relatable stuff” for his viewers in the same boat.
Since then, Wood has developed a niche demographic of fans. “My audience is definitely mostly women,” he points out, calling them “really special” and praising their “sense of humor.”
In addition to social media stardom, Wood created the hit show Brooke and Connor Make A Podcast with co-host and fellow TikTok star Brooke Averick.
While the podcast continues to have a loyal following (with nearly 10 million audio listens and 117 million views across TikTok and Instagram reels this year), the tour also continues to be a true “pinch me” moment in Wood’s career.
“That’ll be two full years, hundreds of shows and a ton of tickets sold. That’s a big one for me. Pinch me, punch me,” he tells PEOPLE.
The next extended leg of the Fibs & Friends Tour will kick off on Aug. 7 in Denver, Colo. Tickets are available for purchase.
