Wednesday season two is finally here—and Jenna Ortega kicked off the global premiere red carpet with a bang. For the event, the actor put a fresh spin on dark feminine energy makeup, the vampy and gothic beauty trend she popularized with her character, Wednesday, after the Netflix show premiered in 2022.
Created by makeup artist Melanie Inglessis, Ortega’s beauty look featured radiant skin, dark smoky lids, sculpted cheeks, and a brown-meets-burgundy lip. But most notable were her bleached brows, which she lightened up to make almost invisible, for a super-fresh-faced, modern look.
To emphasize Ortega’s gothic vibe, Inglessis created a hollowed cheek and eye. She first prepped the skin with popular K-Beauty device, Laduora Lumeo SkinLift System, which uses a power combo of red light therapy, near infared light, 4D current, and facial massage.
“It’s a great tool for the red carpet because it helps me mold the face—usually I would be doing massage with my fingers, but this has that times a thousand,” Inglessis told Glamour via email. “It really helps to lift the cheekbones and the brow bones, so I use it as a sculpting tool.”
