Catelynn Lowell’s girls are going back to the classroom!
The Teen Mom star, 33, celebrated back-to-school season on Instagram Aug. 25, announcing that her daughters, Novalee, 10, and Vaeda, 6, whom she shares with Tyler Baltierra, were starting fifth grade and kindergarten, respectively.
She shared a trio of photos of the two girls as they prepared to head off to school. In the first snap, Novalee could be seen sporting some blue streaks at the front of her hair and wearing jeans and a beige shirt as she held up a sign that read, “First Day of 5th Grade.”
As for Vaeda, she could be seen with two buns in her hair with blue ribbons — which matched her baby blue and pink outfit — as she smiled widely at the camera while holding up a sign that read, “First Day of Kindergarten.”
The post concluded with a final snap of the two girls together on a staircase as they smiled at the camera. Novalee wrapped an arm around her younger sister as Vaeda held a hand up to her heart.
“First day of 5th grade and Kindergarten 😩❤️😱,” Catelynn captioned the photos, adding the hashtags, “my babies” and “my girls.” She also tagged her husband in the post.
The sweet back-to-school moment comes just months after Catelynn and Tyler marked another set of milestones — their daughters’ birthdays. In January and February, the proud mom shared heartfelt tributes to Novalee and Vaeda, celebrating their unique personalities and the joy they bring to the family.
On Instagram, Catelynn shared a throwback video of her and Vaeda at the hospital when she was born, and wrote that she was “so sweet, spunky, funny and fierce.”
“This girl is going to run things when she’s older!” she added. “No one will ever be able to walk over her and she knows exactly what she wants!! Vaeda you have the best personality and such a loving soul!!! You make us laugh on the daily! Happy birthday pretty girl!!!”
As for Novalee, she shared in a January post that her daughter was “beyond kind and thoughtful,” alongside a photo of her at what appeared to be a zoo with a bird perched on her head.
“Tomorrow we wake up and have a 10 year old 😭 people are not joking when they say time [flies] when it comes to your kids!” Catelynn wrote in the caption. “We are blessed to have Nova as our daughter!”
Catelynn and Tyler also share an older daughter, Carly, whose birth was featured on Teen Mom in 2009. She was later placed for adoption, though the couple noted in April 2025 that they have not had a visit with Carly in two years. They also share a younger daughter, Rya Rose.
