She’s officially bejeweled! Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are officially engaged, and the singer’s stunning new rock is giving fans all the feels. But where exactly is the engagement ring from, and what makes it so jaw-dropping?
The couple shared the big news on Instagram on Tuesday, August 26, posting photos that captured the magical proposal. In one shot, Kelce, 35, held Taylor’s hand while proudly showing off her new ring. The centerpiece is an old mine brilliant-cut diamond set on a gold band adorned with smaller stones and a thin bezel.
Her ring was co-designed by Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry and Kelce himself, Page Six confirmed.
As for the price tag, jewelry expert Nilesh Rakholia estimated the rock to be worth between $950,000 and $1,270,000. The Abelini founder told Us Weekly, “The stone itself looks to be easily in the 7–10 carat range, which immediately places it among the most iconic celebrity engagement rings.” Another jewelry specialist, Laura Taylor, weighed in, suggesting the diamond could be up to 12 carats and agreeing it’s “easily worth” $1 million.
Taylor didn’t stop at the ring—she paired the massive diamond with a Cartier watch, featuring a matching gold wristlet and a diamond face, perfectly complementing the engagement jewelry.
The photos themselves captured the couple’s love in full bloom. Kelce got down on one knee wearing a Ralph Lauren navy blue shirt and white pants, while Swift stunned in a white top with embellished stripes, thin straps, and a flared hem, matched with a flowy A-line midi skirt. In one tender moment, Taylor placed her hand on Kelce’s cheek, surrounded by a garden of flowers. Another snap shows the pair closing their eyes, pressing their foreheads together, and sharing soft smiles as they cuddled on a bench amid more blooms.
The Instagram caption read, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” with her hit song “So High School” playing in the background, a nod to their whirlwind romance.
Swift and Kelce first started dating in summer 2023 after he attended her Eras Tour. While they didn’t meet at the concert itself—Taylor wasn’t offering meet-and-greets—Kelce later reached out after joking on his “New Heights” podcast that he wanted to give her his number. By September, their relationship was in full swing, and the couple has been impossible to ignore ever since, from PDA-filled moments at Arrowhead Stadium to a Super Bowl victory celebration kiss on January 26, 2025.
“Everyone in Travis and Taylor’s world assumes an engagement is coming,” a source told Life & Style on February 6, three days before the AFC championship. “In fact, a lot of people find it pretty extraordinary that it hasn’t happened already.”
“He is so open about Taylor being the one,” the insider added. “He wants to spend the rest of his life with her and vice versa.” Even Travis played coy about the proposal at the Super Bowl’s opening night on February 3: “Wouldn’t you like to know,” he said slyly with a grin.
