Dakota Johnson looked like she went straight from the salon to her speaking gig at the Zurich Film Festival—and not just because of her sleek and shiny blowout.
On September 26, Johnson promoted her latest film, Splitsville, while dressed in a chic grey sweater from Ferragamo’s fall 2025 collection, which she paired with a black miniskirt, semi-sheer black tights and sky-high Saint Laurent knee boots. And no, she did not forget to remove her protective bib after a lengthy hair appointment—that silky black cape was built right into her top.
Though this particular piece is not currently available on Ferragamo’s website, the luxury Italian brand has released multiple pieces with similar detailing, including a belted midi dress with a “billowing front panel” and a sumptuous wool coat with a “dramatic cape-like collar,” both of which retail for over $3000.
It seems the hottest thing a fashion it-girl can do right now is cover up from clavicle to décolletage. We’ve already seen funnel necklines and scarf coats dominating current coat trends, while stylish NYC-based celebs like Jennifer Lawrence and Ashley Olsen started draping elegant pashminas and stoles over casual everyday ‘fits before the weather even had a chance to drop.
In one fell swoop, the queen of elevated minimalism took all the guess work out of this season’s most sophisticated layering trends. Leave it to Dakota Johnson to find such a breezy way to take on the assignment, while subtly remind everyone to book their fall color refresh while she’s at it. Her gloss chestnut hair and halo fringe are looking pretty tempting right about now.
