Teen Mom alum Farrah Abraham is making headlines once again — and this time, it’s all about her daughter, Sophia Abraham.
Before revealing the real news, the mother-daughter duo decided to have a little fun with their followers, teasing what looked like a major announcement.
In a joint Instagram post, Farrah, 34, and her only child — whom she shares with her late boyfriend Derek Underwood — wrote, “we have a surprise for you guys,” alongside a pregnant emoji and a shot of Sophia holding her hands over her stomach.
The clip quickly takes a twist. As dramatic audio plays, Farrah gasps and pretends to be shocked — until Sophia lifts up her shirt to reveal not a baby bump, but a brand-new tattoo. “I got my first tattoo!” she announces proudly.
On October 9, Farrah shared the full video of Sophia, 16, getting inked for the first time. The design? Three small black bats, one of Sophia’s favorite symbols, tattooed across her both sides of her lower stomach.
“This is so surreal,” Farrah captioned the post, tagging both Sophia and the tattoo artist. “First #tatoo [sic] memory!”
Sophia also took to her own Instagram to thank her artist, writing, “thank you so much @nick_sl_art for doing my first tattoo! i love my bats sm 🖤🦇.” Farrah sweetly commented underneath, “Surreal day ❤️.”
While some fans celebrated the milestone, others expressed shock that Farrah allowed her teenage daughter to get inked so young.
One fan wrote, “Permanent decisions shouldn’t be made until you’re an adult.” Another said, “Y’all call this parenting?! She’s 16 years old… And so is Farrah in the head..”
Some fans though, rallied with Farrah explaining that if their parents had let them express their personality as a teen, they would have a better relationship with them.
“Honestly if my mum had been like this we’d probably still be talking, I cut out my mum as an adult because she wouldn’t let me express myself and guess what I’m in my 30’s with zero tattoos I regret but am covered and love myself. So it might not be a phase but if it is who cares! She looks like such a happy girl and Farrah has turned into an ace mum 👏🏻🖤”, said one fan.
Lastly, another person wrote, “Can everyone be happy ? Not your kid , not your problem. Atleast she didn’t do what I did and got a tattoo behind her mother’s back like I did . She’s growing up.”
