In 1969, Aldo Cipullo dreamed up the Cartier LOVE bracelet right here in New York—the same year Andy Warhol decided the world needed Interview. Clearly, something in the water was sparking bold ideas, the kind that change how we talk about style and culture forever. On Thursday night, we gathered at the iconic Plaza Hotel—an NYC institution where Andy once floated through Capote’s Black and White Ball, and where a young Interview staffer named André Leon Talley interviewed Karl Lagerfeld for the very first time—to toast to this shared creative energy. LOVE and Interview were both born from a spirit that’s fabulous, beautiful, and a little over the top, and we plan to keep it that way. Just look at the newest evolution of Cartier’s LOVE collection, and the fresh pages of Interview, to see proof that true icons don’t fade—they just keep finding new ways to stay irreverent.
