Captain America just earned a brand-new title: Dad!
Chris Evans and his wife, actress Alba Baptista, have reportedly welcomed their first child together, marking a major milestone for the couple just over a year after tying the knot.
According to multiple reports, Evans, 44, and Baptista, 28, quietly became parents in Massachusetts on October 25, with both TMZ and People confirming the happy news days later. The couple has yet to publicly share the baby’s name or gender, but fans are already celebrating the Marvel star’s next big adventure—fatherhood.
Rumors that the pair was expecting first surfaced over the summer, when a fan account posted a Father’s Day tribute for both Evans’ and Baptista’s dads. In the comments, Alba’s father, Luiz Baptista, seemed to drop a major hint, writing, “Many thanks dear Chris. Your turn is coming! 🥰”
The actor himself has never been shy about his family goals. Speaking to Access Hollywood in November 2024, Evans opened up about wanting to follow in the footsteps of his Red One costar Dwayne Johnson—at least when it comes to parenting. “Yeah, I hope so. Yeah, absolutely,” he said at the time. “The title of dad is an exciting one.”
Evans and Baptista’s love story has been a whirlwind romance rooted in privacy and genuine affection. The couple married in September 2023, holding two intimate ceremonies—one in Cape Cod and another in Portugal, honoring Alba’s heritage.
“I got married,” Evans confirmed at New York Comic Con shortly after the nuptials. “It was really, really great. We kinda had two ceremonies. We had one on the East Coast. We did one in Portugal. It was wonderful and beautiful.”
And while Evans may be one of Hollywood’s most beloved stars, he’s also proven to be quite the romantic. In June, he revealed to The Knot that he proposed in Portuguese, a gesture that melted fans’ hearts. “She’s Portuguese, so I learned how to say, ‘Will you marry me?’ in Portuguese,” he shared. “I practiced it all week … I actually think I screwed it up, but I still know it.”
The couple’s relationship first made headlines in 2021 after Baptista followed Evans and several of his family members on Instagram. By late 2022, they were spotted holding hands in New York City, and in January 2023, the Avengers actor made things Instagram official, sharing a montage of sweet moments from their year together captioned, “A look back at 2022 ❤️❤️❤️.”
