Youtuber Zack D Films’ latest video has been going viral since its release on November 13. With over 6 million views and counting, it’s making waves across the internet.
So, what’s the hack—and why is everyone talking about it?
In the video, Zack demonstrates the easiest way to eat an orange. A cartoon character shows the orange being placed sideways, then sliced in half with a sharp knife. Next it’s explained that, by pressing firmly on the outside of the peel with your thumbs, the orange half flips inside out, transforming the slices into a flower-like pattern.
The result? Perfect, bite-sized chunks you can pluck one by one—without getting messy or covered in juice.
Fans are loving this unexpected shift from Zack’s usual content. Many commented on how refreshing it was to see something useful instead of gory.
One fan wrote, “Finally something I can use in a day to day life good job Zack .” Another said, “I like how Zach isn’t traumatising us and instead is showing us how to eat an orange ”. Another chimed in with a similar sentiment saying, “Finally a practical life hack. No carnage, no blood, no suffering.”
Zack D Films is typically known for his violent animations, often depicting real-life accidents or death. His videos are usually pretty graphic, so this fun orange hack was a much-needed change of pace for his fans.
That said, not everyone found it as easy as it looked. Some viewers shared their less-than-perfect attempts: “I tried… it didn’t work… now my kitchen is full of orange juice,” one fan admitted. Another added, “I’ve done this before and I’ll tell you what it’s hard to prevent juices from leaking out because once the orange is cut it squeezes out the juice as you push the back.”
