The Boyfriend is coming back soon!
Netflix revealed the first trailer, as well as the cast, for the highly anticipated second season of Japan’s first gay romance reality TV show, hitting the streamer on January 13, 2026.
Here’s a synopsis: “Season 2 moves the setting to Hokkaido, where the iconic Green Room transforms into a snowy retreat. Across two months, ten men will live together amid breathtaking winter landscapes, operating their peppermint-colored coffee truck as they share everyday moments, build connections, and navigate the unfolding stories that emerge from communal living.”
Season 2 also features new music by Korean indie rock band Glen Check, who return after composing the Season 1 track “Dazed & Confused.” Their new song, “Bloom,” captures the emotional journeys of the participants as they move through a transformative winter toward a radiant spring.
This year, the cast’s ages range from 20 to 40 and includes members from outside Japan, including Thailand and Peru.
