Meryl Streep and Christie‘s Team Up to Auction Looks From ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’

Miranda Priestly is opening her closet to the highest bidder. From September 1 through September 15, Christie’s New York will auction off clothing, jewelry, and accessories from The Devil Wears Prada 2, with proceeds benefiting the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) and the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Consider it a chance to own a piece of fashion—and film—history while supporting two worthy causes. By all means, move at a glacial pace—just not once the bidding begins.

Meryl Streep herself conceived of the auction, which will feature many of the film’s most memorable looks, including ones worn by Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Simone Ashley, and Lady Gaga. Standouts include the Dries Van Noten tassel jacket Streep’s Miranda Priestly wears to a staff meeting at Runway, the black-feathered Bad Binch TongTong by Terrence Zhou dress Lady Gaga wears in the “Runway” music video, Emily Blunt’s $100K Elsa Peretti Bone Cuff, and plenty of Dior and Dolce “Can You Spell” Gabbana.

Streep similarly spearheaded a charity auction of costumes from the original 2006 film following its release, benefiting causes including Dress for Success, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and Equality Now. The film’s sequel focuses on the tenuous state of the journalism industry, making the CPJ nod a fitting one.
